         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 18, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations, Subcommittee on General Government,  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 9:15 am. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Flores; Luna, Vilma; Puente  
                   (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Tillery (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 12:40 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:15 p.m., January 25, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:25 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

                   Tillery; West (6). 
          
         Absent:   None (0).
