         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 2, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 9:09 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Flores; Luna, Vilma; Puente  
                   (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Tillery (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
         (Representative Tillery now present.) 
         (Representatives Deshotel, McClendon, Solis and Yarbrough now  
         present.) 
          
         At 12:01 p.m., on the motion of Representative Flores and  
         without objection, the meeting was recessed until 1:00 p.m.,  
         March 22, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:11 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Puente; Tillery (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Luna, Vilma (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         (Representatives Luna, Vilma and Tillery now present.) 
          
         At 3:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
