         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 18, 2000, the House Committee  
         on Appropriations-S/C on General Government met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Heflin, at 8:15 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Puente; Tillery (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Luna, Vilma (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.  Testimony was taken.  (See attached  
         witness list.) 
         (Representative Flores now present.) 
          
         At 12:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:30 p.m., June 7, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:31 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Flores; Puente; Tillery (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Luna, Vilma (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.   Testimony was taken.  (See attached  
         witness list.)

         At 5:15 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
