         Pursuant to a notice posted on July 27, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on General Government met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Heflin, at 8:10 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Luna, Vilma; Puente (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Flores; Tillery (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative Tillery now present.)  (Representative Flores  
         now present.) 
          
         At 12:26 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 1:30 p.m., August 9, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:35 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Heflin. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
         Present:  Representatives Heflin; Flores; Luna, Vilma; Puente;  
                   Tillery (5). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 5:52 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
