         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 19, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Education met in a work  
         session and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Henry Cuellar at 8:18 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Giddings; Hochberg (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Delisi; Mowery (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. The Subcommittee discussed pending  
         budget items. 
          
         (Representatives Delisi and Mowery now present.)   
          
         At 9:45 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until the adjournment of the House. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 11:10 am and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Cuellar.  The roll was answered  
         as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Delisi; Hochberg (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Giddings; Mowery (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. The Subcommittee discussed pending  
         budget items. 
          
         (Representatives Giddings and Mowery now present.)   
          
         At 12:17 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
