         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 4, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Education met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Henry Cuellar at 6:25 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Cuellar; Hochberg; Mowery (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Delisi; Giddings (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representatives Delisi and Giddings now present.)   
          
         The Subcommittee discussed pending budget items. 
          
         At 7:40 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
