         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 14, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Regulatory, met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Pitts, at 9:41 am. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Pitts; Gutierrez; McReynolds; Moreno,  
                   Paul; Pickett, West, (6). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 12:45 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 2:00 p.m., January 19, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 2:35 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Pitts. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

                   Paul; Pickett, West (6). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present.
