The House Committee on Business & Industry Subcommittee on Telemarketing 76th Legislature March 21, 2000 1:00 p.m. Capitol Extension, E2.010 Pursuant to a notice posted on February 28, 2000, the House Committee on Business & Industry, the House Subcommittees on Consumer Fraud and Telemarketing, met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair of Telemarketing, Representative Solomons, at 1:17 pm. Present: Representatives Solomons; Dukes; Giddings; Siebert (4). Absent: Representative George (1). A quorum was present. Chairman Solomons moved that the Subcommittee on Telemarketing adopt the 76th Legislature's House rules for this and future hearings. The motion passed without objection. Chairman Solomons introduced the members of the committee and made opening remarks. The Committee Clerk, Brandon Aghamalian, gave a brief overview of the member's packet, including a summary of current telemarketing laws. (Representative Corte now present.) Testimony was taken.
