The House Committee on Redistricting 
         76th Legislature 
         July 8, 2000

         Pursuant to a notice posted on June 12, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Redistricting met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Jones, Delwin, at  
         9:25 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Jones, Delwin; Dunnam; Hunter; Pitts  
                   (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Glaze; Bosse; Counts; Grusendorf;  
                   Marchant; Moreno, Paul; Wilson (7). 
          
         Mr. Gene Braught, Mayor of Weslaco, welcomed the House Committee  
         on Redistricting and the Senate Committee on Redistricting to  
         Weslaco. 
          
         Senator Eddie Lucio and Representative Miguel Wise also welcomed  
         the Committee to Weslaco. 
          
         Public testimony was taken. 
          
         At 1:36 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the chair.
