Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 19,
1999, the House Committee on Civil Practices met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Fred Bosse at 12:21 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representatives Janek; Alvarado; Dutton; Goodman
(4).
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 274 as pending business.
Representative Zbranek offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
Representative Hope moved that SB 274, as amended, be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion failed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Bosse; Hope; Nixon, Joe;
Zbranek (4).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: Representative Smithee (1).
Absent: Representatives Janek; Alvarado; Dutton;
Goodman (4).
The bill was left pending without objection.

favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
