Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 5,
1999, the House Committee on Corrections met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Pat Haggerty at 3:40 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Haggerty; Staples; Culberson; Ellis,
Dan; Farrar; Gray; Lengefeld; Longoria (8).
Absent: Representative Allen (1).
A quorum was present.
SB 1514
The chair laid out SB 1514 as pending business.
Representative Farrar offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
Representative Ellis, Dan moved that SB 1514, as amended, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Haggerty; Staples; Culberson;
Ellis, Dan; Farrar; Lengefeld; Longoria (7).
Nays: Representative Gray (1).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Allen (1).

The chair laid out SB 1217.
Representative Ellis, Dan moved that SB 1217 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and
Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:
