         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 7, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the chair, Representative Haggerty, at 1:40 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Haggerty; Allen; Ellis, Dan; Farrar;  
                   Lengefeld; Longoria (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Staples; Culberson; Gray (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken on the topics of special needs parole and  
         blue warrants.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 2:56 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
