Pursuant to a notice posted on June 28, 2000, the House
Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a public hearing and
was called to order by the chair, Representative Hinojosa, at
10:05 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Mike (4).
Absent: Representatives Dunnam; Garcia; Nixon, Joe; Talton;
Wise (5).

Chair recognizes Representative Manny Najera of El Paso, Texas

At 12:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was recessed until 1:00 p.m., July 7, 2000.
The committee reconvened at 1:05 p.m. and was called to order by
the chair, Representative Hinojosa. The roll was answered as
