CORRECTED MINUTES
On March 22, 1999, the House Committee on Economic Development
authorized the correction of the minutes for the meeting of
the House Committee on Economic Development held on March 8,
1999. The following are the corrected minutes for that
meeting:
Pursuant to a notice posted on March 3, 1999, the House
Committee on Economic Development met in a public hearing and
was called to order by the Chair, Representative Jim Solis at
1:40 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Solis, Jim; Van de Putte; Deshotel;
Homer; Keffer; Seaman (6).
Absent: Representatives Luna, Vilma; McClendon; Yarbrough
(3).
A quorum was present.
HB 1478
The chair laid out HB 1478.
The chair recognized Representative Oliveira to explain the
measure.
(Representatives McClendon and Yarbrough now present.)
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)
The chair recognized Representative Oliveira to close on the
measure.
The bill was left pending without objection.

The chair laid out HB 1259.
The chair recognized Representative Wise to explain the
measure.

The chair laid out HB 1543.
The chair recognized Representative Keffer to explain the
measure.
Representative Yarbrough offered a complete committee
substitute.
The chair recognized Representative Keffer to explain the

measure.

The chair laid out SB 269 in lieu of HB 951 which was the
previously posted companion and left as pending business.
The chair recognized Representative Isett to explain the
measure.

Representative Seaman moved that SB 269 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent
Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following vote:

Keffer; McClendon; Seaman; Yarbrough (7).
Nays: None (0).

Representative Yarbrough moved that HB 1148 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and
Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:
