         Pursuant to a notice posted on June 27, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Economic Development, Subcommittee on Charge #3 -  
         Career and Technology, met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Jim Solis, at 9:15 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Solis, Jim; Keffer; Seaman (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Deshotel (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The House Committee on Economic Development, Subcommittee on  
         Charge #3 - Career and Technology, met in a joint committee  
         hearing with House Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee  
         on Career and Technology. 
          
         The subcommittees met to hear invited and public testimony  
         regarding Career and Technical Education issues. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:00 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until subject to the call of the  
         chair.
