Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 13,
1999, the House Committee on Financial Institutions met in a
formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,
Representative Kip Averitt at 12:05 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Averitt; Solomons; Ehrhardt; Elkins;
Grusendorf; Marchant; Pitts (7).
Absent: Representatives Denny; Solis, Juan (2).
A quorum was present.
SJR 37
The chair laid out SJR 37 as pending business.
Representative Marchant moved that SJR 37 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:
Ayes: Representatives Averitt; Solomons; Ehrhardt;
Elkins; Grusendorf; Marchant; Pitts (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Denny; Solis, Juan (2).
SB 1520
The chair laid out SB 1520 as pending business.
Representative Elkins offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
Representative Solomons moved that SB 1520, as amended, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Averitt; Solomons; Ehrhardt;
Elkins; Grusendorf; Marchant; Pitts (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Denny; Solis, Juan (2).
At 12:10 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
