Pursuant to a notice posted on June 5, 2000, the House Committee
on General Investigating met in a public hearing and was called
to order by the chair, Representative Gallego, at 10:24 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Gallego; Uher; Crabb; Keel (4).
Absent: Representative Eiland (1).
A quorum was present.
The following individuals were recognized by Chairman Gallego to
testify on the State Board of Education's management of the
Permanent School Fund:
Christian Washington;
Brian Borowski, Collaborative Group;
Robert Rodriguez, Southwestern Capital Markets, Inc.;
Russell W. Stein, First Union; and
Don McLeroy.
The following individuals filed witness affirmation forms, but
were not called to testify:
Carol Ann Smith, State Auditor's Office;
Roger Ferris, State Auditor's Office;
Paul Ballard, Texas Education Agency; and
Stephen P. Arnold, Southwestern Capital Markets, Inc..
At 6:10 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
