House Committee on House Administration 
         76th Legislature 
         February 4, 1999

         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on February  
         1, 1999, the House Committee on House Administration met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Tony Goolsby at 8:00 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Goolsby; Luna, Vilma; Allen;  
                   Alvarado; Chisum; Hawley; Maxey; Tillery (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Bailey; Giddings; Hamric (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chairman Goolsby introduced new members of the committee and  
         committee staff. 
          
         The chair recognized Steven Adrian, Executive Director, House  
         Business Office to introduce his staff. 
          
         The chair recognized Linda Pittsford with Legislative  
         Council's Information Systems to introduce her staff. 
          
         The chair opened the floor to committee members to discuss  
         House Administration issues. 
          
         Without objection, the chair named the following members to  
         the Subcommittee on Policy & Procedures Manual:   
         Representative Luna, Vilma, Chair, Representatives Chisum;  
         Giddings; Hawley; and Maxey.  
          
         Motion by Representative Chisum to grant the chair of House  
         Administration, the authority to act on the committee's behalf  
         in matters involving the management of the general budget,  
         approval of expenditure requests by House members, management  
         of House facilities, coordination with House support personnel  
         and general enforcement of House policies and procedures. 
          
         The motion was seconded by Representative Luna. 
          
         The motioned passed without objection.

         (Representative Hamric now present.)   
          
         At 8:20 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
