Pursuant to a notice posted on February 24, 2000, the House
Committee on State, Federal & International Relations met in a
public hearing and was called to order by the chair,
Representative Hunter, at 10:10 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Hunter; Berman; Isett; Madden; Solis,
Juan (5).
Absent: Representatives Moreno, Paul; Chavez; Elkins; Jones,
Charles (4).
A quorum was present.
Testimony was taken from the Texas Veteran's Commission (See
attached witness list.)

Testimony was taken from the Texas Coalition of Veterans. (See
attached witness list.)
At 11:25 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was recessed until 12:30 p.m., March 8, 2000.
The committee reconvened at 12:40 p.m. and was called to order
by the chair, Representative Hunter. The roll was answered as
follows:
