         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 30,  
         1999, the House Committee on Insurance met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative John  
         Smithee at 10:52 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Smithee; Burnam; Lewis, Glenn;  
                   Olivo; Thompson (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Eiland; Moreno, Joe; Seaman; Wise  
                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 2051 
          
         The chair laid out HB 2051 as pending business.   
          
         Representative Lewis, Glenn offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         (Representative Seaman now present.)   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Lewis, Glenn moved that HB 2051, as  
         substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to  
         the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion  
         prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Smithee; Burnam; Lewis, Glenn;  
                        Olivo; Seaman; Thompson (6). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Eiland; Moreno, Joe; Wise (3). 
          
         At 10:54 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
