Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 5,
1999, the House Committee on Insurance met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the Chair, Representative John
Smithee at 3:40 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:

A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 1153, the companion to HB 1089.
Representative Eiland offered a complete committee substitute.
The chair recognized Representative Eiland to explain the
measure.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Seaman moved that SB 1153, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Smithee; Eiland; Burnam;
Moreno, Joe; Olivo; Seaman; Wise (7).
Nays: None (0).

The chair laid out HB 823.

to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
