The House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues 76th Legislature August 24, 2000 10:00 a.m. Capitol Extension, E1.026 Pursuant to a notice posted on August 1, 2000, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Goodman, at 10:25 a.m. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Goodman; Isett; King, Phil; Morrison; Naishtat; Reyna, Arthur; Reyna, Elvira; Truitt (8). Absent: Representative Pickett (1). A quorum was present. The meeting convened to hear invited testimony on interim charge numbers 3, 4 and 5. Review the current laws relating to community property system, including constitutional and statutory provisions in Title 1, Family Code. Review child support visitation guidelines as required by the federal government. Conduct active oversight of the agencies under the committee's jurisdiction, including the child support enforcement program and recent law changes affecting the TX Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.
