         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 5,  
         1999, the House Committee on Public Safety met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Bob Turner at 3:34 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Bob; Berman; Carter; Driver;  
                   Gutierrez; Hupp; Najera (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Keel; King, Phil (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representatives Keel and King, Phil now present.)   
          
         The chair directed that the April 20, 1999 minutes for the  
         House Committee on Public Safety be corrected.  The corrected  
         minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         At 3:36 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
