         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18,  
         1999, the House Committee on Public Safety met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Bob Turner at 12:19 pm.

                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out SB 923.   
          
         Representative Gutierrez moved that SB 923 be reported  
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do  
         pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following

                        Carter; Gutierrez (5). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0).

         At 12:21 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
