The House Committee on Public Safety 76th Legislature May 16, 2000 12:30 p.m. Mabee Center, 1219 Fisk Ave, Brownwood, Texas Pursuant to a notice posted on April 12, 2000, the House Committee on Public Safety met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Turner, Bob, at 12:36 p.m. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Turner, Bob; Keel; Berman; Carter; Hupp; Najera (6). Absent: Representatives Driver; Gutierrez; King, Phil (3). A quorum was present. Chairman Turner laid out Interim Charge number four, which deals with the "One Call to Dig" concept. Don Ward, Executive Director of the One-Call Board of Texas, made opening remarks and discussed the findings of the One-Call Board of Texas - Industry Task Force. Testimony was taken.
