The House Committee on State Affairs 76th Legislature March 2, 2000 10:00 a.m. Capitol Extension, E2.010 Pursuant to a notice posted on February 9, 2000, the House Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Wolens, at 10:18 a.m. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Wolens; Turner, Sylvester; Brimer; Hunter; Jones, Delwin; Longoria; McCall; Merritt (8). Absent: Representatives Alvarado; Bailey; Counts; Craddick; Danburg; Hilbert; Marchant (7). A quorum was present. (Representative Turner, Sylvester in chair.) (Representative Wolens in chair.) (Representatives Danburg, Counts, Alvarado now present.) Testimony was taken on the subjects of regulation of cable and broadband and broadband access. (See attached witness list.) (Representative Turner, Sylvester in chair.) Testimony was taken on the subject of SB 560 implementation and local telephone competition. (See attached witness list.) At 1:45 p.m., on the motion of Representative Turner, Sylvester and without objection, the meeting was recessed until 2:10 p.m., March 2, 2000. The committee reconvened at 2:20 p.m. and was called to order by Representative Turner, Sylvester. Testimony was taken on the subject of local telephone competition. (See attached witness list.)
