         Pursuant to a notice posted on June 7, 2000, the House Committee  
         on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Wolens, at 10:20 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Wolens; Alvarado; Brimer; Counts;  
                   Hunter; Jones, Delwin; Longoria; McCall (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Bailey; Craddick;  
                   Danburg; Hilbert; Marchant; Merritt (7). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         (Representative Danburg now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of cable regulation.  (See  
         attached witness list.) 
          
         At 1:16 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the committee broke for lunch until 1:45 p.m., August 17, 2000. 
          
         The committee returned at 1:59 p.m.  Testimony was taken on the  
         subject of cable regulation.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 3:37 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
