Pursuant to a notice posted on April 30, 1999, and a
suspension of the 5-day posting rule on May 3, 1999, the House
Committee on Urban Affairs met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the Chair, Representative Bill Carter at
4:12 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:

(5).
Absent: Representatives Bailey; Clark; Edwards; Ehrhardt
(4).
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SJR 35.

Representative Ehrhardt moved that SJR 35 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:

Ehrhardt; Najera (5).
Nays: Representative Hill (1).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Clark; Edwards; Hodge (3).

The chair laid out SB 1622.

Representative Ehrhardt moved that SB 1622 be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following

objection.
The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendments
into the committee substitute.
