Brown Senator Eliot Shapleigh Senator Tom Haywood Senator David Bernsen Senator David Cain Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. Senator Drew Nixon Senator Jeff Wentworth ***** The Chair called the meeting to order at 10:12 a.m. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator David Cain The Chair made opening remarks and asked Senator Lucio, Jr. as well as the other members for their opening remarks. The Chair called on Irving City Council Member Linda Harper-Brown to welcome the Committee to Irving. Those witnesses testifying and registering on State Affairs Committee Charges Nos.1 and 5 are shown on the attached witness list. At 11:01 a.m. Senator Lucio, Jr. assumed the chair. At 11:08 a.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair. At 12:56 p.m. Senator Lucio, Jr. assumed the chair. At 1:12 p. m. the Special Committee on Border Affairs joined the State Affairs Committee to discuss Committee Charge No. 1. At 1:50 p.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair. At 2:50 p.m. Senator Lucio, Jr. assumed the chair. At 3:00 p.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair. Senator Shapleigh requested a NAFTA Demand Model and a list of federal programs and possibilities. The Chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. There being no further business, at 4:30 p.m. the Chair moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.
