MINUTES SENATE COMMITTEE ON VETERAN AFFAIRS AND MILITARY INSTALLATIONS Monday, April 26, 1999 2:00 pm or Upon Adjournment Senator Truan's Desk ***** Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.11, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs & Military Installations was held on Monday, April 26, 1999 at Senator Truan's Desk, at Austin, Texas. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Senator Carlos F. Truan Senator Gregory Luna Senator Troy Fraser Senator Steve Ogden Senator Eliot Shapleigh ***** Chairman Truan called a public meeting upon adjournment of the Session at his desk to take up and consider SR 637, relating to expressing support for a United States postage stamp that will honor the brave men and women who are wounded while fighting on behalf of our country. Roll was called and a quorum was pronounced present. Chairman Truan laid out SR 637 and recognized its author, Senator Jackson, to explain the resolution. There being no testimony or questions, the hearing was closed. Senator Fraser moved that SR 637 be reported favorably to the full Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a vote of 4 ayes. 0 nays, and 1 absent. Senator Shapleigh moved for adoption of the minutes from April 12, and April 19, 1999. There being no objections, the minutes were unanimously approved. There being no further business before the Committee, Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to call of the chair.
