This will be a joint hearing with the House Committee on Redistricting
for the purpose of taking invited testimony on the following subjects:

(1)Regional hearings
(2)Preclearance under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act (Ms. Gaye
   Hume, attorney, and Ms. Tricia Tingle, trial attorney, Civil Rights
   Division, U.S. Department of Justice).
