Amend HB 1686 as follows:
      (1)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, in Section 161.101,
Agriculture Code, (Senate Committee Printing page 1, line 14),
insert "bison" after "exotic livestock," and before "domestic."
      (2)  Add a new SECTION _____. and renumber the subsequent
Sections accordingly.
      SECTION _____.  Chapter 2, Agriculture Code, is amended by
adding Section 2.004. to read as follows:
      Sec. 2.004.  POLICY:  BISON.  The agriculture policy of this
state must recognize that bison:
            (1)  are wild animals indigenous to this state;
            (2)  are distinct from cattle, livestock, exotic
livestock and game animals; and
            (3)  may be raised and used for:
                  (A)  commercial purposes; or
                  (B)  the purpose of preserving the bison
species.
