Amend HB 2914 by adding a new SECTION, appropriately
numbered, to read as follows, and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS
appropriately:
      SECTION _____.  (a)  As part of the transfer of personnel and
appropriations made by HB 819, Acts of the 77th Legislature,
Regular Session, 2001:
            (1)  any appropriation to the Texas Department of
Economic Development relating to the Office of Rural Affairs is
transferred to the Department of Agriculture, including no less
than $212,612 each fiscal year of the 2002-2003 biennium; and
            (2)  no fewer than 4.0 full-time equivalent positions
must be transferred by the Texas Department of Economic Development
to the Department of Agriculture.
      (b)  This section takes effect September 1, 2001, only if HB
819, Acts of the 77th Legislature, Regular Session, 2001, becomes
laws.
