Amend HB 3667 in Section 2 of the bill at the end of added
Chapter 161, Tax Code (Committee Printing, page 3, between lines 14
and 15), by inserting the following:
      Sec. 161.006.  AUTHORITY OF COMMISSIONERS COURT IN CERTAIN
POPULOUS COUNTIES. (a)  This section applies only to a county with
a population of one million or more in the unincorporated area of
the county.
      (b)  The commissioners court of a county where the tax is
paid under this chapter may adopt an order prohibiting the use of
fireworks within 600 feet of a residence.  The order may not
include the prohibition of fireworks used in a public fireworks
display by a licensed pyrotechnic operator.
