      Amend CSSB 1 as follows:
      (1)  Under the Article XI appropriation to the Department of
Health (page XI-11), add the following appropriately numbered
rider:
      CONTINGENT APPROPRIATION: MEDICAID AND CHIP REIMBURSEMENT
RATES.  Contingent on the enactment of HB 2467 or similar
legislation of the 77th Legislature relating to rates and
expenditures under the Medicaid and state child health plan program
in strategic investment areas and in addition to other amounts
appropriated by this Act, the sum of $69,025,896 is hereby
appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Department of
Health for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2002, for the purpose
of eliminating disparities between strategic investment areas and
other areas of the state in the Childrens Health Insurance Program
and Medicaid, and the additional sum of $73,065,913 is hereby
appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Department of
Health for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2003.
      (2)  Adjust the article totals (XI-11) accordingly.
