      Amend CSSB 1 as follows:
      (1) Under the Article XI appropriation to the Department of
Health (page XI-11), add the following appropriately numbered
rider:
      CONTINGENT APPROPRIATION: CHIP REIMBURSEMENT RATES.
Contingent on the enactment of House Bill 2468 or similar
legislation of the 77th Legislature relating to capitation and
reimbursement rates under the state child health plan in the
Texas-Mexico border region and in addition to other amounts
appropriated by this Act, the sum of $6,254,000 is hereby
appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Department of
Health for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2002, for the purpose
of ensuring that statewide capitation rates for the Childrens
Health Insurance Program are equal to statewide averages, and the
additional sum of $6,883,200 is hereby appropriated out of the
General Revenue Fund to the Department of Health for the fiscal
year ending August 31, 2003.
      (2) Adjust the article totals (page XI-11) accordingly.
