      Amend CSSB 1 as follows:
      (1) Under the Article XI appropriation to the Health and
Human Services Commission (page XI-14), add the following
appropriately numbered rider:
      CONTINGENT APPROPRIATION: NUTRITIONAL ASSISTANCE FOR LEGAL
IMMIGRANTS.  Contingent on the enactment of House Bill 1218 or
similar legislation of the 77th Legislature relating to nutritional
assistance for certain legal immigrants and in addition to other
amounts appropriated by this Act, the sum of $14,436,138 is hereby
appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Health and
Human Services Commission for the fiscal year ending August 31,
2002, for the purpose of providing nutritional assistance to
certain legal immigrants and the additional sum of $13,139,150 is
hereby appropriated out of the General Revenue Fund to the Health
and Human Services Commission for the fiscal year ending August 31,
2003, for the same purpose.
      (2) Adjust the article totals (page XI-14) accordingly.
