Amend CSSB 1 as follows:
      (1) Under the Article XI appropriation to the Department of
Human Services (page XI-15),add the following appropriately
numbered rider:
      CONTINGENT APPROPRIATION: FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR LEGAL
IMMIGRANTS.  Contingent on the enactment of House Bill 2395 or
similar legislation of the 77th Legislature requiring provision of
TANF assistance for certain legal immigrants who entered the United
States on or after August 2, 1996, and who have resided in the
United States for a period of five years, and in addition to other
amounts appropriated by this Act, the sum of $322,473 is hereby
appropriated out of TANF funds and $51,255 our of the General
Revenue match for Medicaid and $66,931 in Federal Medicaid Matching
funds to the Department of Human Services for the fiscal year
ending August 31, 2002, for the purpose of providing financial
assistance to certain legal immigrants and the additional sum of
$921,883 is hereby appropriated out of TANF funds and $162,590 in
General Revenue match for Medicaid and $136,709 in Federal Medicaid
Matching funds to the Department of Human Services for the fiscal
year ending August 31, 2003, for the same purpose.
      (2) Adjust the article totals (page XI-15) accordingly.
