      Amend CSSB 1, Article XI, on page XI-17, Texas Department of
Human Services, by adding the following appropriately numbered
rider:
      Sec. ___.  In addition to the funds appropriated above in
Strategy A.1.4. Nursing Facility & Hospice Payments, there is
hereby appropriated $7,173,868 in general revenue in fiscal year
2002 and $7,193,933 in general revenue in fiscal year 2003 for the
purpose of increasing the personal needs allowance for persons
residing in a convalescent or nursing home or related institution
licensed under Chapter 242, Health and Safety Code, from $45.00 per
month to $60.00 per month.
