      Amend CSSB 1 by adding the following rider to Article XI
      Required Action
      1) On the Higher Education Coordinating Board's bill pattern,
increase funding for Strategy C.4.4., Teacher Education, by
$1,500,000 in fiscal 2002 and $1,500,000 in fiscal year 2003,
financed as follows:

      2) Add the following intent rider to the Higher Education
Coordinating Board's bill pattern:
      ___.  Distance Learning Consortium.  It is the intent of the
Legislature that from funds appropriated above in Strategy C.4.4.,
Teacher Education, the Higher Education Coordinating Board provide
$3,000,000 over the biennium, to upgrade a distance learning
consortium through Huston-Tillotson College.
