      Amend CSSB 1 in Article XI, in the recommended items of
appropriation for the University of North Texas (page XI-52), as
follows:
      (1)  Insert the following new item:
      C.5.1.  Strategy:  MENTORING PROGRAM
      Section 105.51, Education Code
      (2)  Include as recommended funding for the new item added by
this amendment $250,000 in each fiscal year of the biennium ending
August 31, 2003.
      (3)  Adjust the grand totals of recommended funding for the
University of North Texas accordingly.
