Amend SB 85 by adding an appropriately numbered SECTION to
read as follows and by renumbering existing SECTIONS accordingly:
      SECTION ____. Section 508.145(b), Government Code, is amended
to read as follows:
      (b)  An inmate serving a life sentence for a capital felony
is not eligible for release on parole until the actual calendar
time the inmate has served, without consideration of good conduct
time, equals:
            (1)  25 calendar years, but only if the inmate since
imprisonment has been classified in the highest good conduct time
earning classification available to the inmate; or
            (2)  40 calendar years, for an inmate serving a life
sentence for a capital felony other than an inmate described by
Subdivision (1).
