Amend SB 210 as follows:
      (1)  Strike SECTION 2 of the bill (Senate Committee Report,
page 1, lines 26 through 33), and substitute the following:
      SECTION 2.  Section 56.203, Education Code, as amended by
this Act, applies only to a person who enters grade nine no earlier
than the 2001-2002 school year.  A person who entered grade nine
prior to the 2001-2002 school year is governed by Section 56.203,
Education Code, as it existed before amendment by this Act, and the
former law is continued in effect for that purpose.
