SRC-TBR H.B. 568 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 568 77R2075 BDH-DBy: Gallego (Shapleigh) Finance 5/10/2001 Engrossed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Current law authorizes state employees that accrue vacation leave to carry vacation leave forward from one fiscal year to the next in accordance with the prescribed schedule for vacation leave. H.B. 568 adds one hour to the vacation hours accrued per month for full-time state employees and 12 hours to the maximum vacation hours carried forward from one fiscal year to the next for a full-time state employee. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 661.152(d), Government Code, to provide that a state employee accrues vacation and leave time and may carry vacation leave forward from one fiscal year to the next in accordance with a specified schedule. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
