SRC-BWC H.B. 569 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 569 77R2074 BDH-DBy: Gallego (Shapleigh) State Affairs 4/29/2001 Engrossed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Current law requires a state employee to apply to the sick leave pool administrator to contribute hours to the sick leave pool. H.B. 569 allows employees to contribute without applying to the administrator in order to provide greater flexibility and efficiency in contributing to the sick pool. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 661.003, Government Code, to authorize an employee to contribute to the sick leave pool one or more days of the employee's accrued sick leave. Deletes text that required an employee to apply to the sick leave pool administrator in order to contribute to the pool. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
