DIGEST AND PURPOSE 

The Tejano Music Hall of Fame Museum in Alice, Texas, was established and
developed by Tejano R.O.O.T.S. (Remembering Our Own Tejano Stars), a
non-profit corporation, to preserve, maintain, promote, and display
historical documents, artifacts, and audio and visual recordings
documenting South Texas' rich Tejano music heritage and industry
influences.  H.B. 1019 designates the Tejano Music Hall of Fame in Alice,
Texas, as the official Texas Tejano Music Hall of Fame. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Title 106, Revised Statutes, by adding Article 6139k, as
follows: 

Art. 6139k.  STATE TEJANO MUSIC HALL OF FAME.  Provides that the Tejano
Music Hall of Fame Museum in Alice is the official Texas Tejano Music Hall
of Fame. 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: September 1, 2001.
