HBA-DMH H.B. 1272 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Office of House Bill AnalysisH.B. 1272 By: Davis, John Licensing & Administrative Procedures 3/16/2001 Introduced BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Under current law, all persons filling an original application or the renewal of a real estate license must pay a fee not to exceed $100. License holders are also required to comply with mandatory continuing education requirements. House Bill 1272 exempts a real estate broker who is over 70 years of age from certain requirements of The Real Estate License Act. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY It is the opinion of the Office of House Bill Analysis that this bill does not expressly delegate any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. ANALYSIS House Bill 1272 amends The Real Estate License Act to exempt a real estate broker who is 70 years of age or older from mandatory continuing education requirements and annual license renewal fees. EFFECTIVE DATE September 1, 2001.
