DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Under current law, the amount of time various licensees are required to
retain records for inspection by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission
(TABC) differs. Creating consistency in the record keeping process will
facilitate the record review process conducted by TABC and the comptroller
of public accounts. H.B. 1613 requires beer manufacturers and distributors
to retain certain records for inspection for at least four years.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.

SECTION 2. Amends Section 64.04(b), Alcoholic Beverage Code, to make a
conforming change.

SECTION 3. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
