SRC-JEC H.B. 1881 77(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 1881 77R3513 KLA-DBy: Hilderbran (Wentworth) Intergovernmental Relations 4/19/2001 Engrossed DIGEST AND PURPOSE A county's juvenile board oversees the operations of the juvenile justice system within that county. The 76th Legislature created a county court in Kendall County to help with the increasing case load. The county court's jurisdiction includes juvenile cases. As proposed, H.B. 1881 includes the judge of the county court at law on the juvenile board of Kendall County. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 152.1361(a), Human Resources Code, by providing that the juvenile board of Kendall County is composed of certain persons including the judge of the county court at law. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2001.
