DIGEST AND PURPOSE

The property known as Woodlawn was purchased from The University of Texas
System by the General Services Commission (GSC), which in turn deeded the
property to the State Preservation Board (board). However, the board does
not currently have the authority to dispose of the property. H.B. 2164
authorizes the board to sell Woodlawn at its fair market value and requires
the proceeds from the transaction to be deposited in the capitol renewal
account or its successor.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a
state officer, institution, or agency.
